  1. Hoboken High School is actually VERY good. you are getting misguided information. Just because the school is super diverse (i.e. the REAL meaning of diverse) doesnt mean it’s bad. You must be reading the Hoboken Moonface Gazette.

    *rob*

No, rob. These are people with children actually enrolled or at one time enrolled in the schools there. They don’t find them to be that great. All of them have already enrolled their children in private schools or plan to enroll them soon. Their biggest gripe right now is that they can’t sell their property without taking a loss. One friend did just that and bought a house in Montclair where the public schools are excellent.

  2. DeLepp, welcome to my world. I have similar issues. So the lawyer dude did get some reduction for you correct? He won a big reduction for us but taxes for the building went up 70K this year regardless :o( (90 unit building).

Ishtar, don’t yawn at me. :o). As ENY explained yesterday, we bit butt lovers don’t care if it’s real or fake. Unless you have a behind to match, spet aside and let us oogle over the Armenian chick.

  3. good question, m4l. And I don’t know for sure.
But I think as long as not new CofO, you still get the limited increase.
It is not the assessed values of brownstones not increasing- it is that the law will not allow your taxes to increase too much 1 year to next – no matter what happens to assessed values.
So theortically those people in condos who are paying taxes at current assessed values could have taxes go down if market ever crashed per BHO predicitions. But brownstone taxes still go up because still paying way under assesed values.

  4. M4L – I agree with Ishtar – Hoboken and Jersey City schools are not good at all – you will have to send kids to private!

Wow – we are all such Kvetchers this morning about the trains – haaaaaaa

Dibs – I used to love the E train – and you are sooo right – it would crowd up at 34th street and I think 7th avenue (the stop before 5th avenue/53rd street) and the train would just swell with people and everyone would get sooooo cranky
