  1. babs and ishtar,

I used to take the 2/5 to work and it is indeed a splendid ride.

    Cobble,

I think Mr. B is one retweeter, maybe another staffer too. I think by retweeting you can read more easily when mobile.

    rob,

observe this quote from Moby dick and take its advice:

“Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off – then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. “

  2. Ishtar, I’ve never had a TV in the bedroom but I bet there is a lot less sex that goes on when there is a TV. Cuz if you go to bed and you’re just lying there and thinking, well, might as well get your groove on, right? But if the TV is on I bet people just stare and stare and stare until they fall asleep like zombies. I bet it contributes to all kind of insomia issues too.

  3. Dona – I wanted to say thanks for pointing me to the 5’oclock club.com – it’s a great site with a lot of helpful info that I have already begun using! so thanks
just waiting to see if my 2 job prospects pan out! – here’s hoping!

I got a flu shot yesterday -anyone else?

  4. Thanks babs. Ulcers are caused by several things. In my case it seems that I am developing problems from working down at the WTC. Was there for almost 9 months breathing in a lot of stuff. I’ve been luckier than a lot of others though- my lungs are still good but the stomach and the sinuses are starting to go a little kablooey. Still- several friends have developed cancer, others are having serious breathing problems. A couple have died. I count myself lucky at this point.

…..we’re now down to the TV in bedrm”

Oh HUGE huge pet peeve for me. TVs in bedrooms.

I have relatives in kansas city who think I’m some kind of subversive because I refuse to put a television in a bedroom. They’re the kind of people who have tvs in every room and have them on constantly, just talking to no one in particular.

I also open the windows at night to let in fresh air when I’m visiting them. I’m pretty sure they think I’m some kind of hippie.
