F&%$! Wrote a nice note to snappy and a response to legion/jackal on the dereg question and got the d&mn login error thing. Mr. B, this is getting ridiculous.

l/j – My recollection is Bush bank regulators heavily used express federal preemption doctrine to cut off state efforts to limit predatory lending and other excesses of the lending boom. Otherwise, less an issue of dereg and more an issue of asleep at switch despite tons of warning signs in the lending area.

about Rob’s 9:30 AM crime-saga on or near President St. imho it could have been worse. For instance there there was a time a few short decades ago when the mafioso was in control of President st., mostly from down by the water: Gallo brothers (which gave rise to Mario Puzo writing “The Godfather”, then the movie, etc.); then crimes families of Profaci, Columbo, Bonano, Gambino, Cosa Nostra to name a few.

Google, “Joey Gallo” if interested. From Pres. St. alone came the original “going to the mattresses”, and “gangster chic” phraseology. Pres. st. has its own language. Beware of anyone from pres. st. mhwaaaa haha 🙂
