Rob – Binghamton is actually an amazing school -your ex was just a bad apple in the bunch. I know way to many people who went there who were super smarties in HS and went on to do great things like my friend who is a scientist trying to find a cure for cancer at Mt. Sinai
I also believe that most kids should enter the work force for 2 years or more before going to grad school unless of course they are going to med/law school
Regarding saving for retirement: a big fat whatever. Since when is everyone entitled to live in a big house and golf and travel when they are retired? All this bullshit about people not being able to afford retirement misses the point. The problem is an increase in expectations, not a decrease in quality of retired life.
