Yes, it was a long standing issue with the MTA and Lindsay came into office playing tough ending up with a 13 day strike and major concessions out of the city. It also emboldened Sanitation 2 years later and they stuck it to him too.
Hornby very popular with the younger crowd… I think I have all his stuff except his first, ‘Fever Pitch’, which is a sports rant so not my thing, sells for around $500 anyway.
“You know where there really is a lack of a decent neighborhood bar? North Slope. Around where I used to live. I bet you could do a decent business if you opened something up on 7th Ave in North Slope.”

I feel your pain.
I just barely remember Lindsay. Beame and Koch are more firmly etched in my mind.
CGar, you serious? if yes, I might be interested – IF the projections look juicy. Not like I’ll be able to buy a house or anything any time soon
I’m afraid I’d drink the profits, Cgar…
I remember Lindsy. He gave away frisbees in Central Park.
I remember Lindsay – subway strike wasn’t really his fault – it was a long-standing legacy. But he did blow snow removal big time.
