“if you keep losing bidding wars it means one of two things. you are poorer than you think are or that there are a gazillion retards out there overpaying for shit.”
The second part is definitely true. As for the first part, it’s more that I’m cheaper.
Besides, *rob*, I’m just trying to find the perfect apartment for you to stay in when you get kicked out on the street.
“Is anyone actually taking rob’s real estate advice???”
CGar, the apartment has some nice things going for it. I don’t see you as the kind of person with a lot of extraneous “stuff” so I would imagine that you would have more space than the current owners. Could work out fine, if they allow dogs.
Having enough left to buy a place in Vermont sounds smart, too.
Only problem being holding back because of the dog issue, as it is not certain if the vote would go your way. Do you really love this one, otherwise?
here’s my observation – I have a big tree that all the little sparrows flock to but only at like 5:30 every evening and they chirp uncontrollably – I love sparrows b/c I think they are very social – but man are they vocal and get really loud with each other – what do you think they are communicating with each other?
Kens, etson, it is about 200 square feet smaller than what I’ve been looking at — mostly looking at duplexes before — but the price is substantially less too. Can’t beat the location. Will tell you more offline, but the benefits of buying a place like this are (1) only 1 floor for the dog who can’t do stairs any more and (b) I can afford to buy a condo in Vermont with the savings.
And, yeah, I would use the FDR together with the LR as part of the main living space — all flows into 2 large hallways and the kitchen as well.
bxgrl, I realize it’s not another house for you, but not narrow or dark.
Bear in mind, if they don’t change the “no dogs allowed” rule, I’m done with it.
I also sent my broker a list of 2BRs I want to see at 1BBP.
Pete, thanks, but I stop looking as soon as I see walk-up.
I watched “Perfect Storm” last night. Having almost drown once in Hong Kong, drowning is one of the things I fear most. It’s gotta be one of the worst ways to go.
Pete- I like that place but do they say if the roof-deck is private for this apartment? They seem to omit that and if its a walk up but I don’t see any access to he roof deck from within the apartment.
Not that I could afford it in any case but if I am going to fantasize, I want to fantasize being picky.

No, dave.

“jackal — The Dead is indeed that good. So is the John Huston movie of the story. A miniature as movies go, but just perfectly done.”
Agree with jackal and Slopey on “The Dead”, both book and movie.
Anyone know anything about birds…(really know!)

no deal, lech. My people wouldn’t allow it.
