I’m finally getting around to shorting gold. Had to open up a trading account (I just buy broad based vanguard funds as I’m prohibited from trading most individual stocks, so I didn’t have an account to do this with). I’m going to buy a double short gold ETF whenever the wire clears, either this afternoon or tomorrow.
Bxgrl – aww that’s sweet about your mom and sparrows – I just like them so much – they are so sweet to each other, they love to ruffle their little feathers in sand or dirt and they are very vocal with each other – sorry I have spent a lot of time watching them in my backyard!
DCB, recall such oil predictions. one claimed that the storage tanks, underground units, etc were at full capacity and will not be able to withhold that much oil from daily output from flooding mkt and tanking it back into 30’s.
Mrs. D. and I were waiting in line at a Soho booksigning Saturday (Dave Eggers/Zadie Smith) and I can’t believe an OT regular walked by and said hi!
Then we went over to Patagonia for a new winter coat for me. Not having been to that part of Wooster for a while, I couldn’t believe how the whole street has turned into one giant mall!
the guy in that forum post should just stay in the house and when the lady dies steal her house. i bet he can totally get away with it. lots of people get free houses that.
Dave, did you say something positive about the stock market again. We were up this morning, now down 94 on the Dow.
This morning I remembered hearing an oil analyst on bloomberg last spring say the crude would hit $35 a barrel in the 4th quarter. Crude currently at $80.
DIBS, just stick with the server angle. some virtualization would help with overall feel of this blog which has felt very blogged down recently – ie infrastructure upgrade has lagged the content growth
Boy it’s nasty on the forum post about the collapsed ceiling. What is it with people on the internet? Guy posted re his situation and 90% of the answers were insulting and pissy. As benson would say- a frownstoner free for all.
