Anyone have those wonderful pastel portraits? My brothers and I sat for them in Miami Beach around 1960. Everyone looks kind of dead but everyone has a glint in his/her eye.
ishtar: I just bought the Kindle 3 as well. I bought the lighted leather cover, and it’s actually fine. It protects the Kindle, and it enables you to hold the kindle like a book (particularly nice when reading in the subway).
I was reluctant to jump on the e-reader bandwagon, because I’m also a lifelong book lover. I have floor-to-ceiling bookcases in my living room (complete with library ladder), so books are also an important part of the decor and ambience of my home. But I’m seriously running out of space, and don’t need to buy every book I read (since I never use the library). I also bought the Kindle primarily for book club purposes, and for travel. I can’t wait until my next long trip, when I can bring 5-10 books with me in this one small, light device!
Slopey/CGar, my mom refuses to take down the enormous picture of me taken at my Bar Mitzvah. When I’m at her place and friends are over, I try to steer them clear from the room in which it’s hanging. I should consider posting it here (if I could figure out how to scan such a monstrosity into a .jpg file). It would take all the pressure off DIBS and his ’70s afro pic.

I’m in a book club for social purposes that doesn’t always choose books I think are worth taking up shelf space.
whats the deal with kindles and book clubs?
Snappy- I thought that years ago when we went from Afghanistan into Iraq. And when Bush said in January o 2002 that he didn’t care about bin Laden.
“Park Sloper, put your clothes back on. We can see you.”
Ha ha ha. Speaking of tattoos, you mean?!?
Thanks, guys. Just emailed my bro to say whats up.

jessi, I have an oxycodone / oxycontin horror story in my family, too, unfortunately so I empathize.
