  1. I think that Gowanus is, at this point, an ill-defined area somewhere between Boerum Hill and Park Slope. These days, real estate brokers tend to claim that Park Slope runs from 4th Avenue on the west to PPW on the east. The western boundary of PS has moved from 7th, to 6th, to 5th, to 4th in recent years.

For what it’s worth, Wikipedia defines the boundaries as Butler Street to the north, Hamilton Avenue to the South, Smith or Bond to the west, and Third Avenue to the east.

“To be honest and not to hurt you, some of the stuff you write sometimes is pretty rough.”

Um….. rough like how? Like handling people roughly? Or just gross / inappropriate? I’m guilty of both, I’m just curious as to what you meant.

Well….I know you are a nice guy, a family man who used to ice scate on frozen rivers in the woods and that you have a sweet and lyrical and poetic side, but sometimes you write stuff that generates a whoa response, like yesterday what a person would do for a million dollars. I start wondering, are you trying to shock people to be funny or…what?

bxgirl and i had a discussion once about about both our hearing impairments. i fail to see where i making light of that.

  4. Snappy, I mostly agree with BoCoCahiller.

Cobble Hill runs from the south side of Atlantic to the north side of DeGraw, and from the east side of Hicks to the west side of Smith.

Boerum Hill begins on the east side of Smith, though I’m not sure what it’s eastern boundary is, though Cobble’s suggestion of 4th Avenue sounds right. To the north, Boerum Hill begins on State Street (which never made any sense to me) and, IMHO (SHUT UP, PETE!!), ends on the north side of DeGraw.

Carroll Gardens starts on the south side of DeGraw and continues to the north side of Hamilton Avenue. And it runs from the east side of Hicks Street to, IMHO, the west side of the Gowanus Canal.
