I actually got in the cab (OK it was a car I got from work) and told the guy “um, go ahead and take me to the closest good ER please. Like, wherever you would want to go if you had to go to the ER.” He took me to NYU. It really wasn’t bad. In and out in 2 1/2 hours. I of course signed myself out against medical advice because they have to tell me I should stay for 8 – 12 hrs of observation, which is bullshit.
parade was fun – i was chillin btw Classon and Franklin near the Pina Colada stand (those things were strong!)
seemed like there was alot of traffic during the parade. lots of ‘floats’ were stuck in one spot for a while. can’t remember if this happened in the past.
Glad you are feeling better. I appreciate that you kept marking up documents throughout the ordeal. Reminds me of Kramer’s story about driving the bus (“I had to keep stopping, people kept ringing the bell!”)
Back in my white shoe firm days, a senior associate made me draft a reply brief while I was home with the flu and 103.5 degree fever (yes, I remember the point 5). He “didn’t have time” to do it himself and would not consider requesting an extension.
Morning all, and happy back to school week to all the parent PLUSAs.
omg horrible day lech! you just described one of my biggest fears in life!!! raw sewage backing up either from the toilet while you are sitting on it or it backing up in the tub and it’s so sticky you cant get out and youre stuck like a fly on fly paper!!!
No septic system DIBS, just the main drain from the house out to the sewer. My shower is on the garden level so when it gets blocked up if you run the shower you get a little surprise.
Went to NYU (on 2nd Ave in the 20s?)
No idea what it was. Important thing is it wasn’t an MI. According to the docs in my family there are tons of things that can give you chest pains and a lot of them are totally benign. I worked out yesterday, got my heart up to 165, no ill effects at all.
No, didn’t make any of it up Pete, but thanks for asking, dick.
I was really disappointed by the number of “floats” that were little more than travelling clubs. What happened to all the steel drums and fabulous costumes of years past?
cgar – did you read todays NYTimes? article on use of TLC in realtor ads. That mention some BkHTs townhouse from 60’s and still decorated that way for $1.1m. There is a pic in the article? What house could that be? Only thing I can think of is those townhousey units part of Cadman Plaza.
