Ha! Donatella, I’m not so young…just so damned broke that retirement may never actually be an option for me!
Snappy, I got so run over by a truck financially, thanks to the MotherF**kers at a particular financial institution, that I am strictly in my own personal RECONSTRUCTION PERIOD. I hear ya.
“Dave, you often mention retiring to your life as a 21st century country squire, more or less. Is that looking more and more appealing? New york must still hold a lot to offer you.”
jester….it’s a really tough decision. Sure, I want to stay longer in NYC to enjoy all it has to offer but why continue to spend capital to do that when I could leave and live an even better lifestyle but without all the “extras” i get in NYC.
I’m sure you know what “extras” are keeping me here!!!!!
I’d have to find SOMETHING to do if I were retired lest I go crazy. That might be as rewarding as working for my contractor. If I got rid of all the “excess” real estate and just lived in P-Town it’d be a very easy life, but probably less stimulating and far more boring.
“Good pt., jessie, last time thru honesty was definetely not the best policy. Any advice on game-plays?”
First, the obvious one: don’t hate the player.
Second, though frustrating, hard to get is effective. It’s throws people off. Once confused, you can swoop in with the charm. 🙂
Bxgrl: ENY- You should have been in BH if you think it was uncomfortable in Williamsburg for Black people. When my ex and I lived there the cops constantly gave us the hairy eyeball.
I took my old friend who is black and his buddy also black to a busy good Italian restaurant in New Dorp, Staten Island. He leans over to me, kind of wide-eyed “There are NO BLACK PEOPLE in here”. He was getting some wierd vibes, which I didn’t even notice.
DIBS, wanna go work for my cousin in Newtown? He has real estate, commercial mortgage, and debt settlement/consolidation businesses. If you want to sell real estate in Bucks County or Philly that is…or sell commercial mortgages…or do debt consolidation.
Of course, that would mean you’ll be working for a fellow goat herder and might not be able to hang out on brownstoner all day long :o).

Is it possible to “age out” of silverdaddies?

Dave, I have to say that in your 1970s picture, you were very cute. Nice red hair.
