That’s awful, ENY! I’ve had a rifle pointed at me once- I was going home from college and some dude was pointing his rifle at passing cars and floowing them til they got out of range. We called the State Police on that one-, and a zip gun (which the joker fired, thinking it was hilarious), and another gun held to the back of my head. Add to that friends who have eaten their guns and you can say truly, I hate guns.
Yeah, the Chilean miners have some stretch ahead of them. I don’t know if I could do that and not lose it. I went through a time when I read a lot of “prison” literature. I read every book written by the guys imprisioned in Beruit (Terry Anderson) and books on China during the Cultural Revolution (Life and death in Shanghai). The Chilean guys are not being imprisioned by human beings but by nature, and they are being supported by the whole world which will help them, but stretches alone and isolated can really change a person, and sometimes it can be life shaping in a good way.
ENY, that’s pretty bad. I grew up in a town where people had pickup trucks with the gun rack in the window, but no one ever threatened us with violence. The n-word, and variations, was as bad as it got, and eventually that got old, and they stopped.
MM, I heard the cave is like 600 sqft. I think it could be cool, too. Except I did hear that despite the fact that rescuers are able to get food to them, they’ve all lost a lot of weight. I assume they can get rid of their waste by sending back the containers from which they get their food.
According to Wiki, in 2005, New Hampshire was approx 97% white, 1% black, 2% Asian and a few in the “other” category.
