Just checked back in, and found Benson over in the BOTD thread, trying to turn it into the OT that he hated so much that he OT-icided. Well, maybe he’ll BOTD-icide, and Brownstoner-blogicide altogether.
“bxgrl doesn’t realize that in this day and age
you can’t just get away with denials and vacillation.”
exactly, Legion. Which is why I am surprised you still insist on promoting untruths and half truths. I also realize- whereas you don’t seem to, that taking words out of context makes one look like one has an agenda- . You like propaganda. I don’t. It has nothing to do with being left or right. It has to do with what are the facts and why you ignore them when they don’t fit your agenda.
Do any of you watch that TV show “Breaking Bread” on NET the religious channel where that priest travels round Brooklyn scamming free dinners at restaurants????
>I would ask you this, why do the families of those killed on 9/11 have to explain their feelings to the Imam
Agreed but 10 years after the fact, their feelings should not hold anyone in thrall. Keep it to themselves. Can you imagine this country in the aftermath of actual war? We’d be paralyzed with monuments, memorials, and mementos. Move on, folks, why don’t you use that energy to see that the actual memorial gets built?
cmu,
I’m surprised at you,
some of mankind’s greatest works are those constructed in
remembrance?
Should we pave over the Taj Mahal,
because we’ve heard enough already about that Raj’s wife?
Jessi,
it is one thing to play word games with the so-called “non-believers” it is an entirely different thing to actively denounce a group with strong and powerful ties to certain regimes.
as far as the public funding, how would we know.
The funding sources of the 100 million haven’t been disclosed, at least not the ones in the middle east.

legion, comparing tearing down a building to erecting one? that’s ridiculous as an analogy.
…not as ridiculous as tearing down the feelings of many in the name of erecting a structure in homage to harmony.
bids, would you rather live in the room in photo 4 or 5? In the former you’d resemble an 18th century curmudgeon, in the latter …

cmu, you will not be forgiven for your post in today’s HOTD, egging on your other architectural philistine, benson, to remark in kind.
