  1. As a New Yorker, you need to know how to do the shoulder dip and twist, enabling you to walk quickly though any crowded space without slamming into people. Also, you should know how to walk quickly through any super crowded place by looking at passersby’s knees, not their faces.

    as a New Yorker

    i hate that term. im sorry but unless you were BORN in nyc you are not a new yorker and never will be. i am quite proud of calling myself a new jersian. i would never dare refer to myself as a new yorker even tho ive lived here like 10 years.

  3. “I used to feel that way when I was a kid coming home from a week in the country, getting off the WSH at 125th Street. I don’t feel that way any more coming into Brooklyn.”

    Denton;

    It’s funny you mention that. When I was a kid, we used to occasionally visit my mother’s relatives in Newburgh. When we would get off the GWB onto the Henry Hudson, my father would get upset.

    Usually I’m happy to be back, but yesterday was one of those days where nothing looked right about the city. One thing that also pissed me off is the condition of the BQE on Park Ave, that has recently been rebuilt. The sewer grates are already clogged with garbage. Can’t this city maintain its infrastructure?!?!!?!?

  4. I had a dream last night about a PLUSA. It was a nameless, faceless PLUSA. The only thing I remember is their address. In my dream the house number was everywhere. They lived on West 28th street and we were all horrified that a PLUSA can live in Manhattan.

  5. Also, as a New Yorker, you should be able to navigate to your destination, crossing the streets WITHOUT having to wait for a single light. If not, you have not mastered the art of walking in manhattan.

  6. quote:
    I can walk while the car is moving, but I have trouble when it jerks to a sudden stop! I go all wobbly and fall-down-go-boom!

    snappy, i have that disorder too!!! i think it’s called vertigo or something like that

  7. OMG i want to move to italy!! is it really like that? i feel like the people there are kinda fugly tho.

    *rob*

    I don’t know what you mean by “fugly” Rob, but I can tell you that Italians look GOOD. They wear good/expensive clothes (I think they don’t have as many as we do), really value style and elegance.
