okay sorry, no more mention of you know what. i am quite happy that the media attention has tapered off in the last few days. i hope it just turns out to be another swine flu like thing
My stoop is looking less like an alien growth today. I am slowly picking up the pieces, cleaning cement dust off everything, recovering the broken stemmed plants, cement covered drinking glasses, etc. Grand Central Station, i.e. my apartment has been closed to tenants. I feel like I need a Victorian bed cure and/or blood transfusion and definately a NON BROOKLYN vacation.
Speaking of bus/subway foolishness, once I was riding the B63. A mother had her son with her, about 5 or 6 yrs old. The window by their seats was open. The boy had his arm out the window, waving it around. The bus driver gets on the p.a. system and calmly says: “Excuse me, ma’am? The lady sitting in the (whatever) row with the young boy. I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but your son has his arm out the window. As you can see, we are passing quite a few speeding vans and trucks. Some of them are coming very close to this bus. Young man, if your arm gets ripped off, I won’t be backing the bus up so your mom can go pick it up. Thanks. And have a great day!”
