  1. “nor can a non-Jew fully appreciate the feeling BOTH religious and non-religious Jews have towards Judaism. Perhaps that sounds patronizing, but I believe it’s the truth”

It’s not patronizing as much as ‘trivial’…in the mathematical sense…not of much import. We are all informed by our experiences and to some extent no one else can be fully in that space. Where it breaks down is the glib assumption that you (one) is in some way unique and others cannot understand (whatever it is).

As I grew up Indian and I’d guess not many of you have visited India, I could say the same thing about my cultural upbringing. But it’s basically pointless, I may be speaking to someone like Christopher Hitchens (as I did once), who knows about a thoousand times as much as I do about India.

    Second hand experience does count.

  2. I used to roll without a text plan. Then family members and friends (including some Montero-going Nutball who texts more than a 13 year old girl in a Sprint commercial, but shall remain nameless!) began to text me constantly. So, I got the $5/200 text plan. Proved to be insufficient!

  3. Got it wasder, thanks. As you might gather from Snappy’s post insinuating that I text too much (zip it cobble!), I already replied.

And can I just say in my own defense that I had my Crackberry surgically implanted in my palm not just for texting but for emailing too. And I would challenge anyone here to accuse me of excessive emailing. 🙂

  4. 🙂 I only got the unlimted text plan cause I got a new phone (I LOVE THIS PHONE!) and it requires a $20 data/text plan. $20 in text is unlimited with AT&T. So yes, go nuts texting me, but beware your thumbs may fall off!
