“Do Paris and Rome have a lot of bikes sharing the road with drivers and pedestrians?”
Yes. Not only that, Paris recently made it LEGAL for bikes to travel either direction on all one-way streets! France rocks.
“Not a whole lot of respect for traffic rules in Rome, or Paris a lot of the time”
Completely untrue. The various modes have complete respect for each other, they just don’t stop & wait for nothing as we do here. My 11yr son could (and did) cross traffic safely in Rome, after I told him to just wait for a break and walk steadily and purpusefully, no one will hit you.
That’s the difference, roads are *shared* and not completely controlled via lanes and stop signs and sharrows. Works a hell of a lot better than here.
As a kid and teen I LOVED LOVED going to Sizzler – but they all closed down in Queens and LI – but I found that one is still open in Forest Hills!!!
And they still serve Malibu Chicken! – YES!
Rob, there are also YouTube videos showing those Tokyo train attendants shoving the passengers into the jam packed trains. Hard to complain about the subways here after watching that!
“Additionally, in China, at the airport, you stand as close to the gate as possible because the minute they call for boarding it’s mass bedlam and a big rush to the gate.”
I bet you arrived extra early in order to ensure you would have an anxious group of Chinese men pressing against you to get to the gate.
“Well Biff – you most certainly skirted the issue of bike riders paying their fair share”
G10, I definitely agree that bike riders should pay their fair share for skirts. AND, they should wear said skirts while cycling, unless traveling in the bike lanes in Hasidic neighbourhoods! I at least acknowledged that I don’t have the will to discuss it here. Too many peanuts (and raisins) in the gallery. But we can definitely discuss it at Hot Bird. You’re going, right?
M4L, G10 showed up at the Loki gathering in Park Slope. Isn’t Park Slope a much more dangerous neighbourhood than Clinton Hill?
“we totally postgasmed”
LMAO. You’re on a roll, *bedbug*!

Biff, will you play the HOUSE and take my $20 wager that G10 wont be showing up – ie doubt she’ll park her ride in that area

“JB, you can be my mouth piece (pro bono though).”
Pro bono or pro boner?
