There’s this smell the air in California would have on the days after the Santa Ana winds would blow all the disgusting smog away. It was great. Once in a blue moon the air in NYC will have a similar smell, and I’ll be transported back to my early years!

I read somewhere that smell is the sense most closely linked to memory.

I used to get my allowance for
polishing my dads shoes.
He had great shoes,
black and brown wingtips,
tan bluchers and oxblood captoes
to name a few.

check on leather too,
standing in the outfield
in little league with a
rawlings glove held close
to my nose.
ahhh, the smell of it. 🙂
