“Okay – let’s hear it – what was your best layover ever?
”
In Singapore. I did a realtively well known Chinese chef in the showers in the lounge.
Did the same in Tokyo once but he wasn’t a chef.
Longest layover…..my first trip to Asia. 12 hours in the old Hong Kong Kai tak airport on the way to China. We were all tourists travelling on a United Package so we actually got a lot of voucher money for food.
I ALWAYS dress up when I’m flying. Never know who you’re going to be seated next to. Although inevitably I’m NEVER anywhere near the one hot guy sitting in the waiting area.
On my way back from Hawaii I got bumped up to first class, despite being dressed like a bum, because I cried like a two year old at the news that the flight would be delayed 6 hours. That first class seat perked me right up!
“…and of course the satisfaction of looking
back at the rabble in steerage.”
On a long flight, especially to Asia (and Mexico, of course) it’s always fun to “stretch your legs” by walking up and down through the length of Coach. The cuter, younger guys are always back in Coach.

“Dressing up to travel is an age thing.”

I think David Sedaris is hilarious! I actually have tickets to see him at the Apollo Theater in November.

I’ve gotten bumped to First Class a handful of times (You know I didn’t PAY for that!). Once from Europe, the rest in the US. LOVE THAT!
Don’t you just hate braggers????????????

Mine was 6 hours in Amsterdam with 40 strangers.

I won a bottle of wine on a flight once because I was the only person who knew Dorothy’s last name from the Wizard of Oz.
