M4L, I highly doubt anyone will be standing by a car trunk saying to passersby, “Yo, I got Sprite. Sprite, Coke, Pepsi man. I got that sugga yo! Tree dollas just for you. Just for you, mami.”
I’m not at work today…so no complaining about commuting.
I think implied threat to move bottling jobs if pass tax.
Somehow beverage industry already got proposal to change so only soda and not all the sweetened non-carb drinks taxed.
I read 18% tax – not .10 per ounce.
LONDON, June 25, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — The record-breaking tennis duo Isner and Mahut may not sound like a superhero double act but after taking sporting endurance to another level online bookmaker Bodog.com are betting on whether any of the following brands will use either or both men in forthcoming advertising campaigns.
Isner or Mahut or both to be used in an advert for any of (by end of 2010), Bodog.com’s odds:
Fitness Centre Chain 7/2
The Rabbit (better than any man, however long he may last) 5/1
I sat next to a guy who had breath so bad it could kill flys. Then he decided to SING to his Ipod (expelling even MORE breath) Whitney Houston. I almost passed out. M4L, glad you emerged from that; I think you made the right call.
Snappy, think like a true street hustler girl. if these taxes go thru, you just got some juicy mkts – under-ground soda and cig mkt. just smell that cashflow girl. just those school kids for their juice boxes could be a lucrative biz
if you’re paying $2 for bottle of soda….you’re not good at shopping either.
Pretty soon smoking a nice cigarette and drinking a can of diet coke is gonna be quite the luxury.
Maybe I’ll just switch to crack.
Oy…I’m bad at figuring out percentages. Pete, what would 18% tax on a $2 bottle of soda equal?
LMFAO at the thought of a packet of Kool aid being 6 bux.
i say, go for it!
*rob*
