  1. sam…you think she’s governor material???? I think her past would ruin that. Rudy won’t win the governorship…too many upstate people hate him. D”Amato more likely, for better or worse.

  2. You senatorial relative is kinda cute in that blonde upstate way. I loved her listening tour of Brooklyn and the Bronx. Also some of her old constituents are upset at her, like saying -You mean you weren’t a sincere racist and xenophobe????
I wish her luck if Rudy (curmudgeon central) runs agaisnt her next year or the year after, whenever.

  3. “11217-so thats 10 PEOPLE i know who are moving to Brooklyn starting march 1” yeah thats 10 more weaklings who r gonna get victimized as far as im concerned.u just dont get it, do u? Bk will never become the yuppie haven u all hope it will.why do u think there r more violent robberies in gentifying hoods like Williamsburg and Clinton Hill than there r in B’ville and East New York? stick up kids arent dumb.they know which ones to go after.and things r only gonna get worse.

WOW…you are really messed up, buckfast. None of the native Brooklynites I know would ever write that crap. And, I think they’d disown you as well. You’re a pathetic excuse for a Brooklynite. Log out.

  4. What, the sad thing is that if people responded to your posts with warmth, you wouldn’t even notice they were there, or that they’d responded. The only time you recognize you’re being paid attention to is when you’re getting negative attention. The world is filled with people who *could* do something differently but, like you, just don’t want to. What you write, what you say, what you do—that’s your choice, and no one else’s. You want to live in this generation in the same way, and inflicting the same pain, as the generation that brought you into this world, I’d say that’s an unfortunate choice. As to “suck me off”—here’s the kindest thing we say in the very Brooklyn neighborhood where I grew up: “You couldn’t come if I called you.” You see, What, I’m just as capable of you of spewing venom, but I choose not to, even when that choice takes a lot of effort. I rarely resort to song lyrics, but this one’s for you and buckfast (and hannible, too):

The Pointer Sisters, Yes We Can Can

Now’s the time for all good men
to get together with one another.
We got to iron out our problems
    and iron out our quarrels
and try to live as brothers.
And try to find a piece of land
    without stepping on one another.
And do respect the women of the world.
    Remember you all have mothers.
We got to make this land a better land
than the world in which we live.
And we got to help each man be a better man
with the kindness that we give.
I know we can make it.
I know darn well we can work it out.
Oh yes we can, I know we can can
Yes we can can, why can’t we?
If we wanna get together we can work it out.

And we gotta take care of all the children,
the little children of the world.
’cause they’re our strongest hope for the future,
the little bitty boys and girls.

We got to make this land a better land
than the world in which we live.
And we got to help each man be a better man
with the kindness that we give.
I know we can make it.
I know darn well we can work it out.
Oh yes we can, I know we can can
yes we can can, why can’t we?
If we wanna, yes we can can.

  5. “it never effected my quality of life.” and “when trouble found me,i would fight and fight hard.” are diametrically opposing statements.

If trouble is finding you, and you’re having to fight, your quality of life is inherently not as high as it is for those for whom that is not the case.

Far as personal freedom goes … yes, fair enough. NYC’s a bit of a police state these days. Then again, you can walk down the street at night without having to look over your shoulder most of the time.
