dirtyhipster, there is some validity to robs post in that if you spec out a pc with to match those of a mac, you end up paying quite a bit less…and this is coming from someone who owns both. macs are good machines, but you do indeed pay a premium. no need to attack rob.
The WHAT shut up. So fkin what. I am in the process of renting my apartment and I talked to a young professional who said all his friends live or are moving to Brooklyn (Park Slope). NYC IS A BIG FUCKING PLACE people are always moving around. ANd by the way MR. Brownstoner, why do you not have classifieds? I would love to advertise my 1 Bedroom Garden apt. for rent in Park Slope, available March 1. Ha I just did it…
You can taunt the What all you want, Dave, but the panic is rising in your posts again. You know that as Manhattan gets cheaper, Bed Stuy reverts to “Where?” again for your average semi-affluent renter. Good luck with that.
Question for Dave: Since you enjoy ranting against welfare deadbeats, how do you feel about foreclosure relief? You’re a paragon of civic and individual responsibility –I’m sure you’re stoutly against it.
It’s possible that as a senior you live “rent free,” though if you bought a wildly inflated asset at maximum bubblehood, your opportunity cost vis-a-vis other possible vehicles for your saving may be so massive that renting would have made much more sense. (I defer to FinanceGuy, who can manage my money any day of the week.)
What –you’re a hero, but that Hirschorn is overblown and already old news. The Times has taken more money from Slim Shady, they’re in the process of unloading their stake in the Sox, they’ll somehow monetize their building, blah blah. They won;t thrive but they’ll survive. Unlike…
