I am in mourning. This weekend we had to put my little Westie to sleep. It turns out that his seizures were caused by a brain tumour, and the past week he took a real turn for the worse. He was only 9 years old. Most Westies live to about 14 or 15 years old.
My house seems so empty now. It’s amazing how a little 17 pound dog can fill up the place.
I’m sure you’ve heard the expression “When I grow up, I want to be the person my dog thinks I am”. I have a different expression: “I want to be the person my dog was”. He had such a zest for life. He was a puppy at heart, almost right up to end. Also, unlike me, he was a great athlete.
the cyclone is definitely fun. how much is it to ride this summer btw?
OH OH OH OH OH i forgot to mention, this weekend i decided to take myself out on a brunch date (shut up) and went to some place on 5th avenue and waited literally like 2 hours. it was some place with outdoor seating. i dont know what the deal was, but i just up and left. then i wound up going to some hotdog place and i did the unthinkable. i ate a yuppie hotdog. it was like 6 bux :-/
horrible. but i was so hungry and it was like the only place that wasn’t busy. then for dinner i wound up going to that new mexican place oxaxca? on 4th avenue… umm, the people working there was not what i expected. it was two 14 year old white children. wtf? did some park slope family buy a business for their kids? totally strange.
Arkady, I had to go to my mechanics to do an inspection and it was very early so no traffic but we ended up hanging out at his shop because it’s a block away from Coney Island so we just chilled watching people walking to the parade in consumes and then I left at around 3 when they closed the shop so I hit the traffic leaving.
oh about Coney Island, I will never go by car there again. I went on Friday afternoon and I drove around for 10 minutes looking for a place to park. I guess I could have parked in the Aquarium parking lot. That was Friday afternoon before the official end of school….. It is the F train for me if I go.
“I love the Cyclone but can never get the kids I take to go on it w/ me.”
BH will go with you, Arkady, he loves the Cyclone. I stand nearby averting my eyes, I can’t watch!

Lech, next time you come out to Coney Island with wifey, lemme know. If I am free, we’ll go out for some Russki food on Brighton.
I never called anyone “unamerican.”
