  1. Newsflash: Obama administration proposes new peace plan for Afghanistan: Lacing bike lanes throughout the nation. Not just for Kabul, but for all the Afghans, especially the mountain tribesmen.
General Stanley McChrystal has agreed to support the plan in exchange for being allowed to retain his job. He will take the first ride, escorted by F17s from above. Seems that he never learned to ride a 2 wheeler, so he will be take the symbolic journey on a custom “Stars and Stripes” tricycle. (Made in Italy)

  2. Hey guys, I never said the Romans weren’t a smart and enterprising bunch. There’s a reason we still emulate a great deal of their culture today, and always will, it’s a foundation of Western civilization. I’m not taking anything away from that.

However, even as their excesses were eroding their culture closer to home, it remains a fact that there are plenty of documented cases showing that they were subject to the same inability to maintain firm control of some of their conquered lands, especially on the outskirts of the Empire. And for the same reasons we can’t do the job in Afghanistan: geography and climate, an army spread too thin, lack of men, funds and equipment, an inability to understand the nuances of the culture of the people, and a supreme underestimation of those people in their ability to resist being conquered.

    Et tu?

I love tennis – but i think the men’s game relies way too much on power and not enough finesse. I enjoy watching the women play much more.
