  1. Biff;

    I have a bike, and use it alot. I don’t use my car that much, but I have to take care of my feeble mother-in-law and parents down in my old neighborhood. I feel like I need the car to take them around.

  2. M4L;

    Never responded to your question about the car.

    I’m still trying to decide in my mind what I should do:

    a) buy a new car – no worries about repair bills, mechanics, etc.

    b) buy a good used car – more economical, but I hate dealing with auto mechanics. I used to have a good one on 4th Ave, but he got rich selling his lot to a developer and retired.

    c) go with a zip-car type service.

  3. Yes, benson, that’s a very important issue. Far more jobs will be lost in the drilling industry than in fishing.

    The government is acting irresponsibly on both issues, the cleanup and going after big oil.

    If gasoline rises before the elections, WATCH OUT!!!!!!

  4. DIBS;

    There is another angle to this too. I was watching CSPAN a few days ago (yes, I know – pathetic) and they were showing a local congressman touring the affected areas in the Gulf. To my surprise, the top thing on most people’s mind was the fate of the offshore drilling industry down there. With the fishery having taking a hit, the only moneymaker left is the oil industry, and they do not want it whacked, despite what happened. If indeed the government whacks the oil industry, I think there will be hell to pay.
