Benson, thought your commute was closer to mine at around 1000-1100 per month. yeah at your mileage, better to buy a used one. go get an off lease one via one of those lease trading sites (ie leasetrader.com). assume the lease from someone for 6 months or so and if the car is to you liking, negotiate to buy it at the end of the lease (ie I think you can do better the buyout price on the lease given bad econ)
“All I asked, tall, mean woman, was for you to tuck me in and fetch me a snifter of brandy. ”
A. We’ve already had this conversation: I don’t ‘fetch’, it’s in your lease. and B. I had already been tucked in for the night after having had my brandy (ok, it was white wine, but let’s not quibble…) and was sound asleep!
Btw, My butler (not buTTler) is fantastic. Chet can give you the name of the service.

p.s. I flung that little damn tinkling bell of yours three yards over. It gives me a headache.

dh – We were a party of 7 so I tasted just about everything & it was all good. The starters, particularly, were excellent. Entrees – I had the goat (sorry, Kens) lasagne & thought it terrific. The duck confit was really tasty. The taste of burger was good but the person who had ordered it liked it more well-done than I would so can’t give it A+. We were given samples of desserts & they were magnif – a choc mousse-type thing (I didn’t see a menu so don’t know what it’s called) was sheer heaven.
No corkage that I know of but I was guest & my hosts are already “regulars” so there might be one but I doubt it. Service was speedy & congenial.
Benson, I bought my CAMRY with 10,000 miles on it. I think it was owned by a car rental company (I bought it from a dealer in KC). If you buy a used (but not too used) car, you get the big depreciation of the first year and a car that is in good shape.
I don’t like leasing myself. There seem to be too many variables to get screwed plus I don’t drive 1,000 miles a month (which is what they seem to price into the contracts), just weekend stuff mostly local, but driving around met area.
Mean, tall woman, I believe the word is “buttling”. (And, “buttler” is slang for homosexual.) All I asked, tall, mean woman, was for you to tuck me in and fetch me a snifter of brandy. That you didn’t respond when I rang the bell (repeatedly) tells me that you’d already hit the streets for the night.
benson, I don’t like leqsing for a variety of reasons but if you’re not sure btw new and used, why not go CPO? I suppose you’ll need to buy Japanese but if you’ll go German great deals on cpo, extended warranties, free service, ect. Oversupply of german cpo cuz small businesses lease and turn them back after 3 years.

Donatella;
I have the same issue with leasing. I drive maybe 400-500 miles/month, so I don’t want to pay for an assumed level of wear-and-tear that is higher.
Awesome Arkady, thanks! Sounds great. Going to try to check it out tonight.

Denton;
Actually that is a 4th option I am considering. Forgot to mention it.
