“Also, we *good* dads don’t go around whining about what a great job we do and how no one notices (most times, anyway). We just figure it’s our duty, which it is.”
If you ever find yourself in divorce court in NY State, you are going to wish you did a lot more whining before hand. The lawyers and the angry mom’s feast on the carcasses of “good dads”.
I need to mention that seeing what a great dad my husband has turned into has made him even that much sexier to me. Seeing him doing that dad thing, changing a diaper or soothing a cry for the little one just gets me all hot to trot for him.
I love seeing men with their children. There’s something about a man tenderly cradling a baby, or holding hands with his kids that is very endearing and makes you think there is hope for the world. A man who cares about children is not as likely to be a man to hates the world. Perhaps because our society has seen that role as un-manly for so long, it is good for parents to finally share in the care and coddling of children. So you guys who do so – keep doing it.
“Beware of making judgments about parents before you are a parent!”
Huh??? where did I make a judgment??
About Attachment parenting?
I said Dr. Sears talks about it saying that you CAN’T spoil an infant by always holding it, picking it up when it cries, etc….so to do it.
I wasn’t dissing it….and believe it or not will probably follow a lot of what he has to say.
My mommy friends swear by him.

MM,
…you just reminded me,
I have to replace the lock to the
windowless room where I keep the kids
while I’m watching Kojak.
ExTx,
Just sayin’. I was thinking about the Brooklyn Bridge Park discussion yesterday. Of course I don’t know you IRL and I know you often are just kidding.
Re Sears: I never read their stuff, but then again I started with a toddler. I really loved reading Brazelton. But mostly I learned from my kid.

Poor Mrs. C was often mistakenly assumed to be The Champs’ nanny yet nobody ever assumed I was their manny.

SQOTD:
Ever notice how irons have a setting for “permanent” press? I don’t get it.
Most of the time, the nanny is pushing the stroller.
Fathers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your alimony payments!
