  1. Finally closed on my refi w Citi today. I think I had to send my DL 3 times, and everything else twice, but got it done. 4.75% 20 year fixed. That’s what I call a deal. Thanks Bernanke…

  2. Lots of different panels put up on all sorts of places. Could be anything fabricated custom.

Places that use these sort of things at a level below 3-4′ need to be concerned that they may be easily dented or damaged.

  3. DIBS,
no it’s not stucco. I checked the Dryvit website and it doesn’t look anything like that. The siding are definitely panels that have a distinct seperation. I’ve seen them screwed onto the side of the bldg with visible screws that appear to be stainless steel. The panels are about 1/4 inch thick. I’ve only seen them in charcoal or dark grey so far.

  4. Biff, well I presented the choice to a friend who had absolutely NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in going to Coney Island on the Memorial Day weekend, so I planned for that on Sunday. And went to Hispanic Society on Saturday. It was really wonderful. I am sure Coney Island was wonderful – I imagined it in the traffic jam – Coney Island of the Mind.

Yesterday, I worked my butt off in the brownstone itself and the backyard picking up all the tree trash from the windy storms. I have a monster Norway maple back there (spreads over 7 properties) and pulling up weeds and assessing the damage to plants from the freaking squirrels and cleaning up a little the paver brick patio which is very high maintenance. Despite me and my complete lack of attention up to this point, roses are blooming back there and the hydrangea are blooming and the lillies are getting buds.

  5. dh, believe it or not. Driving in Manhattan on holiday weekends is a lot easier. There aren’t that many cars on the road.

It would be much easier (for all parties) if cyclists observed traffic rules.
