  1. donatella,

    I hear you on that.
I think the smartest move a President could make in the near future is to “start the reactors”.
There is a new “fast sodium reactor” which uses the spent fuel from older type reactors as fuel.
The liquid metal slows the isotopes down enough to create fission reactions where heavy water wouldn’t.
I know you previously mentioned the grid system problems,
and that could be part of our solution as well:

    -nuclear power for energy independence
-fast sodium reactors for nuclear waste problem
-upgrading the grid system to create work across the nation.

  2. “I’m just following your lead when you used to tell folks here not to talk about the “other” site and that it’s not fair to Jon, etc.”

Ooh, naughty naughty! C’mon, it was just a ‘panty raid’! It’s not like we’re defecting!

  3. Re energy independance Legion, I really think it derailed our nuclear power policy. The issue of dependance comes with our petroleum consumption/production mix and that relates to transportation. We consume 20 million barrels of crude oil a day here (primarily for transportation but also heating which is seasonal) and 70% is imported.

  4. …interesting BHO,

what you’re basically saying is that
the administration has been doing exactly
what Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac borrowers were
doing for the past 10 years:

Taking money out of their home equity
to pay their ever expanding credit card bills.
