Chicken, that’s why I bypassed gold ETF and just got the bars and stored in bank safe – ie if the world is going to crap out, I aint going to place faith in ETF being around
Last night I watched a show on HGTV where a couple was looking to buy their first home in Florida. They wound up going to a new subdivision and looked at plans and a spec home. They loved it. They were about to put in an offer only to find out that there were three very ridiculous rules of the subdivision:
1. You are not allowed to have an inspector come in and inspect the house. You also cannot come and inspect while the home is being built.
2. You are not allowed to have an SUV and no SUVs are allowed on the premises (including that of guests).
3. You are not allowed to have a barbeque grill.
!!!!!!!
They made an offer and demanded that all of those rules be dropped. The developer gave in. I can’t even believe that those things were rules in the first place. And of all places, FL, that has been hit hard by the housing market decline. Sheesh!
i NEED to get the new Urban novel called Brooklyn Brothel…
“The saying, I Love New York, brings chills to Chantel Ramsey’s heart. For her, New York is a place of hatred, brutality, and self destruction. With her life on the line, she takes her new gritty environment in Brooklyn by storm. New tensions surface when she enters a new brothel where every conniving tenant is for herself. Conflict heats up when Chantel figures out she has to become just as ruthless and treacherous as her co-workers. Determined to end up on top, she uses her luscious body, and undeniable street skills to rake in the cash, and turn her life around. However, there s one problem that lurks in the darkness; pimps don t lay down easily. Chantel ends up running for her life with the possibility of being put six feet under. ”
M4L, they are definitely charging a hefty retail mark-up on those vending bars (have to cover the investment in the machine itself and the internet hookup). From memory, the “kinebars” in switzerland have an absolute premium (to cover the cost of the packaging and handling) which diminishes as you get to the larger sizes.
ETFs are the easiest way to play the gold price but make sure that it’s backed by certified physical gold in a vault somewhere because paper gold is a ponzi scheme waiting to collapse.
the fair is bunch of organizations that are looking for volunteers….I plan on going to see if anything that would interest me/or should I say be interested in what little I have to offer. Mostly because beginning somewhere in next 4-13 months I will have lot of time on my hands.
Nobody remembers the Jerry Penacoli gerbil scandal of the 1980’s?

“Blown up kitties”
Arcaty, I may not be a big fan (of cats, not you), but even I don’t favor blowing up kitties. I’m surprised you’d suggest such a terrible thing!

“accounts payable and accounts receivable”
euphemisms for topping and bottoming?

Has it gotten less smoggy in NYC? Looking out of my window it seems to me the layer of smog in the air is less than when I first moved here years ago.
