  1. Snappy and THL, are your cats who fetch part Turkish Van? We have a formerly feral Turkish Van mix who fetches caps from milk containers. We have raed that they aer like dogs. Van cats are mostly white with small areas of black or gray markings on the ear, back and tail.

  2. THL, that’s hilarious! Maybe Pia (my kitty) and Cookie should talk. Unfortunately, Pia always demands to play fetch starting at 2am. Argh! She stands on me, drops the ball on my face and starts the howling. When I ask her if she knows what time it is, she lets me know that she doesn’t give a rat’s tooty and wants to play NOW! I tried putting up her toys before I go to bed, but that just causes her to cry when she can’t find them. There’s no winning with this cat. But, I love her and so she continues to avoid homelessness!

  3. Snappy, I think she knows our cat Cookie. Except Cookie will bring you the toy, scream at you to throw it bring it back one, maybe 2 times and then at about toss number 3 she wants you to go fetch it for her. She’ll trot over to it and scream at you from where it landed. You then walk over toss it again and she’ll walk over to it hollering for you to follow.

I’ve tried explaining that I’m not the one supposed to be fetching it. That’s when she explained that the only reason she fetches it the first couple of times is so that I’ll understand what she wants me to do, it’s just a demonstration that I’m to learn from.

Apparently I’m the one doing it wrong.
