  1. “‘just done clear-cut the landscape’

    She DONE told me”

Actually, I was replying to you in my best Ricky Ricardo voice, as in, “ET, how many times have I tole you, done clear-cut the clamscape.” 😉

  2. lech: “what we need to do is cut down as many trees as possible, make sure they don’t burn or rot, and let new growth such carbon out of the atmosphere (and of course cut down and sequester that new growth at the appropriate time)”

What **absolute rubbish**. Firstly, cite figures about new trees vs mature trees. While it’s true it’s the growing process that sequesters carbon, mature trees grow too and being bigger can grow slowly and still capture co2.

Secondly if you think that decimated forests are aesthetically pleasing, I don’t know what to say. Strip mining has its numerical advantages too.

Thirdly, the whole idea is terminally impractical (where do we store the wood? What about transportation and storage issues …they emit carbon and use energy too…not to mention the political issues.

Look if you want to march to a different drummer at least be honest. Like ROb, who constantly says he hates anything “green”…I’m ok with that.
