Wasder, I second your belief that 11238 will support a variety of businesses, particularly on Fulton Street. The Associated on Fulton is getting better, but there is still a lack of services in the area. I am on the Eastern border of Fort Greene and we just got a decent dry cleaner (Rolando of Imperial Cleaners, who is great and reasonably priced). I buy milk and a few groceries at Yafa, a Yemeni owned bodega which has improved and actually has decent prices and I occassionally get a bottle of wine at Olivino.
Once in a blue moon, I walk over to Washington and Fulton for a slice of pizza. But there is no drug store nearby for medicine type stuff or toiletries. There is the wine bar of Olivino, which is nice (but tiny) and a wierd new bar “something” 11, but no green grocer, no place to buy a bunch of flowers, no shoemaker, no restaurants that are any good.
I want to learn more about the BID. I am not sure what exactly they have done for Fulton St to this point, but it has improved. Still there is a lot to be desired. We don’t need Starbucks and coffee shops; we need some basic services. AND a few bar/restaurants.

That human horn bat Waxman, thought he would score some populist points by calling them in to congress to explain themselves.

Dave, I hate to quibble with you, but they’re really C-CLOCHs, i.e., Crazy Cat Ladies Of Crown Heights. I mean, really, isn’t the emphasis as much (if not more) on the “crazy” as the “cats”, and can you really have the cats without the crazy???

There aren’t any bars near me on Fulton. Which ones are you referring to? there are some restaurants where you can get a drink but I am talking about a good old fashioned watering hole.
