  1. ET will never experience this though…she insists on cruising that boat around Brooklyn instead of taking that wonderful blue and white limo I keep telling her about 🙂

  2. “NY plaintiffs bar” did someone say bar? why not next PLUSA gathering there?

Just watch any judge show or such and see all the ads for lawyers….all looks pretty sleezy.
Yet, from what I read, NYC has far more than its proportional share of doctors than rest of country and is where MDs prefer to practice. If you think have problem finding doctor (who takes your insurance) here – I believe would be much more difficult in majority of the country.

  3. eh? seems every time you read about a driver-ped or driver-cyclist accident there are ‘no changes filed’ (except when the driver has a suspended license or something and he’s cited for *that*, hooray.) Where are these drivers being cracked down on?

That’s a criminal charge. They are talking about civil suits.

  4. Note Holder’s statement that the bomber’s intent ‘was to kill Americans’.

So tourists, immigrants and cats in the vicinity could get a pass? Or don’t count? This constant use of “Americans” in everyday usage where “people” or other value-neutral language would do betrays our societal emphasis that “we” are somehow more valuable than “the other”.

  5. CMU, I mean that courts have cracked down on people suing for injuries in relation to car accident cases. It’s much harder to have your lawsuit go foward…there are numerous hurdles you have to jump and a particular level of injury to be proven, or else you get thrown out with nothing more than your medical bills paid through No Fault.
