Rob – Kona from Starbucks is typically great (used to work at a Sbux back in the day and would stock up on them as they were seasonal) – but it is a smoother bean – if you want something more strong go for the african beans.
chances are the people operating the machine suck, which is typical in Manhattan starbucks.
On that laptop – I rarely go to anywhere except brownstoner…I keep it next to my work pc (can’t have the boss spying on me) so don’t know where I picked up the virus. Last time (on another laptop) was able to run the malware from c drive.
the new starbucks near me just renovated and is open today so i decided to stop in for an iced coffee… so they are now offering coffee from those clover machines.. i figured okay ill see what all the fuss is out. sorry color me un f-ing impressed.
i may have picked out the wrong brew though because they had african brews and brews from south or central america that said they were bold, i stupidly ordered the kona brew from asia/pacific. with tax the SMALL came to 2.99. anyway, i just didnt find it any better than other coffee, even cheap bustelo from bodegas, in fact i found it slightly on the weak and blah side.
the renovations inside are really nice tho, except there was some froggie type guy from corporate sitting by cona machine yapping away to people about how the floor was made from a 100 year old barn (who cares!) and the lights are all LED lol! then the person on the clover machine was taking forEVER and when he’s then making mine he asks me if i want to hear the spiel about the lovely clover machines (his exact words). i shook my head no, and he made a really stupid joke about giants and dwarves or something in the forest? wtf! not funny.

Pete, I had the same problem about 6 months ago. I think the tech people had to erase my hard drive and re-install all of the software.
