  1. From our friends at Wikipedia: Allium tricoccum, commonly known as ramps, spring onion, ramson, wild leek, or ail des bois (French), is a member of the onion family

I have only seen them at “fancy” grocery stores like Union Market and that one that shall not be named… but they are very common at Farmers Markets this time o’ year.

  2. quote:
CGar does. and feeds dogs bacon egg cheese sandwiches. its cruel.

you are a moron. there is nothing wrong with giving a dog a treat like that on occassion. perhaps if the bitch known as your mother gave you a treat every once in a while as a kid you wouldnt be such a nasty troll.

  4. Greenwood Heights CSA had lots of garlic scapes last spring. We just broiled them until they got sweet and crispy. Yum.

randi — you mean you silently lurk around here for months and months just so you can pop in and make the occasional nasty and unwarranted comment about CGar and the CDog? Yeesh. Don’t you have anything else going on in your life?

  5. Damn, I discovered Saturday that I have a roof leak right over my bed. I was up there with a bucket of tar patching on Saturday. Thank you Arkady, Bob Marvin & CGar on the roofer recommendations. I will probably need a new one soon.

I certainly don’t want anything leaking all over my bed.
