OK that’s all well and good snappy (and please thank momma snappy from the jackal) but I will get my ass KICKED if I call any black person a negro. There is just no way that’s gonna happen.
On the phone with Momma Snappy…her response to Lechacal’s question:
“I would rather be called an American Negro. I am not from Africa so I can’t be an African American. I prefer not to be called “black” either because “black” is a color that does not truly depict an American Negro: We come in a wide variety of colors (Momma Snappy is a light/medium brown) from very light to very dark, therefore calling us “black” leaves out a lot of “American Negros.”
Not only would I get my ass kicked, just the thought of referring to someone as a negro makes me squirm. Just ain’t gonna do it.

stonehawk,
I think the term “America’s Sweetheart” hasn’t been used without irony since Shirley Temple.
“i tried to be PC once and referred to this chick as african-american
she was jamaican
fail”
If you want to commit the ultimate fail, try calling a woman from Antigua a Jamaican.
