Biff, I had the same thought about the bike path. I figure it must planned to run along the outer perimeter, adjacent to Furman Street, because otherwise bikers are just going to ignore the signs and ride in the park anyway.
Same with the lawns – I know some will be open to sunbathing, etc., once the grass takes root, because otherwise everyone is just going to hop the fences and use the lawns anyway.
And I had the same thought about the “fire hydrants”. Must be sprinklers. Those domes may be sandboxes. I guess they kept the kids’ park to a minimum on Pier 1 because Pier 6 (soon to open) will have a huge kids’ park.
I’m sorry to do this but
Cobble, are you here? Can you check your email. I sent you something and not sure I got your email addy right. I was going off of memory.
“Biff- you mean lechacal and I actually agreeing on something? :-)”
Seems that way. I guess Mr. B’s job here is done!
Not exactly bxgrl – I just took a potshot at you for the “white guy from the UES” comment. But otherwise, yes, we agree on this.
Lech, just read your posts over there and am in complete agreement with you. And you definitely are NOT PC, as Rob suggested.
Biff- you mean lechacal and I actually agreeing on something? 🙂
Just responded, Expert.
bikers ignoring signs? don’t be ridiculous.
The fire hydrants are actually just cutesy pee stops for your dogs. Are you offended?
Lech, I totally agree with you that it’s unbelievable but have a feeling it’s for a completely different reason.
🙂

Biff, I would actually guess we are of the same mind on the playground jail issue.
