Our drains are slow over here, too. I know they say it isn’t good for the pipes, but that liquid plumber or worse really works along with a snake.
For our kitchen drain, I boiled several HUGE spahetti pots of water, and poured like 4 of them down the drain, that opened it up. Big waste of water, but avoided the caustic stuff.
