When we lived in Manhattan years ago on the UWS we had a Westie and a wire-haired terrier.
Mrs. D let the westie off the leash and he took off, this was in Riverside Park. He ran from 72nd Street to 96th Street with us in pursuit. Somehow he made it across 96th Street and I said screw it, if the dog is that stupid good riddance. Mrs. D caught up with him at 116th Street.
Shortly thereafter we gave up the dogs to a friend.
I’ve also noticed bxgrl’s conspicuous lack of posting,
what gives?
sounds like a good time for a Republican rant against President Obama’s outright disregard for the Constitution,
there’s been talk of the Dems in congress just declaring the “Health Bill” passed. As opposed to actually voting.
Nice way to start a revolution.
benson, I love Westies! (Is that the plural of Westy??)
*rob*, CDog is a medium-sized dog, and I’m told her life expectancy is only 12 years. That she turned 15 in February is merely because she’s obstinate and does what she wants to do, not what she’s expected or, God knows, told to do.
That’s astounding. One time he agreed to meet me early, before the store normally opened. 9:00 instead of 10. I waited about 20 min and then left because he never showed. I called him later and he told me “you wouldn’t believe how bad the LIE was today.” Van Brunt must have been bumper to bumper, too.
I saw you have a few more stories posted on your site. I would call it your vanity blog but, of course, the vanity is still on the truck.
Rob, you could post the Brooklyn Kitchen sign of the day in the OT. P.S. I saw a woman rocking a woman’s belted version of your snow leopard coat by the Union Street R stop this morning.
“Trouble with old dogs is they start getting expensive, just like old people.”
Except for DIBS, who won’t be expensive because when he gets old [and becomes useless] we’ve been instructed to just take him out into a field.

hey folks,
M4L,
Are you contemplating the “rip someone’s head off then take a coffee break” routine?
Better to take it out on the internet.
“I’ve done this before. Don’t ask.”
DIBS, You lead an interesting life, dear!

He eventually got deported back to Peru. It’s a very long story.
Cgar;
Thank you for reminding me to use the proper adjective when referring to the bevy of OT cats.
Rewrite:
I hope the (damn) cats were hauled in too.
