  1. Arkady, I have to admit, my feelings on Frankie Avalon were colored by my dad’s distaste for him…you should have heard his impression of him. Hilarious!

  2. Snaps – You’re just too young. That song was an anthem when I was in HS – a chance for a slow dance w/ someone you liked or an up-tempo if it were a guy you weren’t interested in.

    They weren’t like any sirens I’m used to hearing. Maybe it was some sort of test? Had that air raid quality to them.

  4. Great list, Snappy. Plus, Julius Ceasar had a really, really bad day on the Ides. Aside from the famous quote from Shakespeare, it is said he was warned of the Ides by a seer, and about midday on the Ides, said to someone, “well, it’s the Ides, and nothing has happened”, to which they replied, “the day isn’t over yet.”
