Yeah, but Arkady, he didn’t say it that way, he stated that ALL creative types were either vapid or trustfunders. Obviously, that is not true. We disagreed, pretty mildly, he blogicided. That statement, from ANYONE else would have been met with derision and argument, and I, personally, would have answered them in the same way. He can dish it out, but he can’t take it. He is much too comfortable with all of his statements being accepted or ignored because people either don’t want to engage him, or care about him too much to call him on his more unacceptable moments. I don’t see where that helps him.
Arkady- the valid points get lost in the rants. He -excuse the expression- paints everyone with a broad brush. He has consistently slung mud at “creative types.” But the major point is how he reacted because we disagreed. We didn’t insult him, or slander him, – we spoke from our own experiences. His reaction was unwarranted- he wants to see the world in one way and its far more complicated than he likes.
I didn’t see it as insulting you (or me.) I think he has a valid point about many subsidized creative types – how many people have you met who say they’re artists/writers etc. who don’t actually work at anything either in their fields or just to pay the rent? I’ve met thousands.
I only got one and it’s a retread:
When I die I want to go like my grandfather, in his sleep, not screaming like the passengers in his car.

Kens – Strident – noisy, loud. Recalcitrant – kicking against the norm.

Even if it’s Biff.
A few more usual suspects and the civility and intelligence quotient here will return to normal levels….i.e. become an interesting site to visit.

Arkady, can you please use more common words so that the goat boy can understand what you’re talking about pretty please?
