I took littlelegion to a national memorial last weekend;
Grant’s Tomb on the upper West side (122nd and Riverside).
He’s learning about the Presidents and I thought it would be a great time to show him a bit of American History, specifically a Civil War hero.
The tomb is amazing, the largest mausoleum in North America and modeled after one of the seven ancient wonders. You can look down on his sarcaphagous made of red marble that weighs 10 tons, his wife Julia is next to him and it is an impressive sight when looked down on from the rotunda with the light coming through the stained glass and reflecting off of the huge 80 foot dome above.
There are flags of the union regiments and historical documents and photos including the President/General’s history as a West Point Graduate, as a hero of the Mexican-American war,as a failed farmer/real estate investor to Civil War General, President and later to lose his fortune on Wall Street and regain it with a memoir finished two days before his death.
A great American story.
contrast with Nancy Pelosi’s statement;
“…you cannot see what’s in the bill until we vote on the bill…” ????? speaking about a Trillion bill proposing to reform 17% of the economy and the entire healthcare delivery system of the nation. Truly the most idiotic statement I have heard from a politician. She’s 3rd in line, one of the chief architects of the 3000 page joke and the future of this nation rests partially in her hands.
God help us.
“And I concurred w/ Legion about something! OMG!!!”
Be on the look out for LIGHTENING!! LOL! ; )

“[*SIGH* I don’t know which is worse, that no one takes my blogicide seriously, or that no one cares. *SIGH*]”
If we didn’t care, we wouldn’t be discussing it!!!
So, per Expert, *rob*, get your butt back here. Don’t take things to heart. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and will express it.
