Wrong. The foreign auto manufacturers all seem to be able to provide decent wages and benefits here. And, they are profitable. It’s the union legacy issues that are the deciding factor on costs.
If it weren’t for the unions, manufacturing would have stayed here and not gone to China which would have resulted in a lot less pollution globally.

NO, you’ve missed my whole point. It was the union legacy issues that casued the manufacturers to raise prices to the point of not being competetive vs. if they chose to manufacture offshore.
If the legacy issues weren’t such a cost, the underwear could be manufactured here for the same price it’s manufactured in China.
