hmmm i dont know donatella. im part irish and the only thing i associate it with is getting drunk. i dont know.. i think st patricks day is supposed to be the day everyone gets super slrunk and droppy!.. uh i mean drunk and sloppy!!
Re St. Patrick’s Day in Hoboken, as much as I like a good time, do you all remember the bad old days in NY when eveyone drank openly on the Street on St. Pat’s day? High school kids from hither and yon came to NY to get emergency room drunk and it was truly unbelievable. Once on 86th and Lex, I saw someone standing straight up one second and then doing a vertical fall (no arm/elbow action) into the street. THAT’s drunk. Pretty embarrassing thing also to say about the celebration of one’s Irish heritage.
NJ Transit is proposing 25% increase on all fares effective May1. While eliminating 32 of 725 trains. So not just MTA having issues. For those of you thinking of commuting from NJ.
et, not sure about cast iron but it’s gorgeous. The landing is perfect for tossing off bon mots to the enthralled crowd below, also a perfect place to do a dame edna impersonation tossing gladiolas(sp?) to the crowd.

Actually on that staircase ‘balcony’, I want to stand there in a skimpy mini skirt, f*ck me pumps, hair all teased and belt out:
Don’t cry for me Brooklyn
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don’t keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me
Don’t cry for me Brooklyn
………
Have I said too much?
There’s nothing more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is true
wow a 25 % increase for NJ transit? ack. nj transit already is pretty damn expensive!!

When I see cast iron buildings/details, I get happy all over.
Pete – They’re not “proposing”; I just heard it’s fait accompli.
