I’m just reading here and there, but just want to say Montrose, I’m so sorry that interview didn’t pan out. But it’s great you got one. Hope everything will work out — soon.

The loss of sharpness comes from scaling down a large photo to a very small one. Corel is not a good program at all to work with photos. In Photoshop, when re-sizing down you would pick ‘bi-cubic sharper’, that would fix it. But I assume that’s a tool you don’t have and you have to work with what you have.
Why don’t you email me. I’ll probably ask you to send me a full-size photo and I’ll see what capabilities Corel has. Don’t feel bad, there’s quite a bit to know about re-sizing for print or web.
