oddly all this beef jerkey talk is making me crave tacos for dinner now. (i dont think ive ever eaten beef jerkey.. it seems so pet food-ish to me) is it good? i know they sell it at the counter of my bodega (i think this one comes with cheese) maybe ill try it out
Maybe he does. He is a graphic artist in the music business and decided that he needed a new life – he loves to cook and with his buddy they came up with this idea. He has been entering these contests that they have at the Bell House. He won something for his beer stew and I think he was the runner up in the last one, so he is getting some good press. He brought the jerky over the other day — he had a Southwestern taste – very spicy, then a “classic” one, just good tasting, and a ginger/citrus one which is awesome.
Why thank you DIBS. At 5:45 pm today my good friend Chris Woerhle is going to be interviewed on All things Considered. He is making wonderful Beef Jerky with grass fed beef — it is so GOOD — and he is trying to make a living from it. He is going to start selling it in bars here in Brooklyn for starters (he’s got to get some USDA inspection procedures worked out but is almost ready to go commercial). Its Kings County Jerky company. If anybody can listen on NPR AM 820 at 5:45pm tonight, please listen. He is a really great guy.

Is it just me or does DIBS look like Joseph Stack, the guy who crashed his plane in Texas:

I had to google PLUSA. the other day….something steamers….you are right. Shameless..
donatella, that sounds interesting. Does he need any investors???
Snark aside, I’d be interested in anything jerky!!! Many of the misinformed posters here think I’m actually quite a jerk.
Serious though, that sounds interesting. There’s not a lot of really good beef jerky. My local butcher in PA makes it though and it’s great.
Shameless is not only acceptable here; it’s expected.
donat – shameless is always acceptable here.

Sorry shameless plug….
Biff and DIBS;
Is there a PLUSA Rehab center for such cases?
