But THE PRIMARY REASON WE WILL ALL STAY WHERE WE ARE has nothing to do with the fact that Manhattan equivalent townhouses are 5-10 X more expensive than their Brooklyn counterparts but is so that we can continue to post on brownstoner and be relevant, informed and on topic in all the discussion threads.
The West Village is most like Brooklyn but, as has been pointed out, is overrun with celebrities and groups of tourists from New Jersey blocking the sidewalk while dribbling cupcake crumbs all over the place. No thanks.
Gramercy and lower 5th Ave. I could stand because they’re so pretty (and convenient to Citarella) but all the time I would be thinking about all the fun in Brooklyn I would be missing — such as people and restaurants.
Yep, sticking in the grass and trees in my backyard, just starting to stick on the sidewalk. I guess I’ll have to send the tenant out with the shovel……
Snark, many times I have been told to STFU. However, I am humbly accepting of the first STFU AWARD.I want to thank all the other posters in today’s thread, my mother and father but most importantly I want to thank my great-aunt Polly Noonan who, I believe, during her political reign, has told many people to STFU.
Thank you again, ladies and gentleman and BRG and cobblehiller.

BRG, you are my one and only exception 🙂 Stay away from craigslist…your hey-nanny-nanny may fall off if you mess with one of those girls!
