hi bxgrl,
yeah, there are certainly humans with “superhuman” abilities, I saw a special on Discovery with a guy in England who could calculate massive numbers and square roots and cube roots and “savants” who could draw entire vistas from one quick look.
I think it is very probable that genetic selection will be a major issue in the next 50 years. We are already seeing how quickly people are willing to jump into the new science having children at 60 or 8 kids by in vitro. Wait till they have the opportunity to “select” a child for super intelligence or super height. I think I’ve heard of sperm banks with “lookalike” donors, so you can select a donor that looks like some vapid celebrity.
legion- I actually do believe there are people with extrasensory abilities- very very rare, and not defined as such by their doting parents. But since it seems both the children are male, if the asteroid hits, we are sh*t out of luck 🙂
I think children start out brilliant and time and circumstance add on the layers until most of us are simply ordinary under th weight of our lives. Maybe its the speed at which their brains are developing, or the innocence, but I’ve always believed children come into the world with a special ability to see things we no longer can as adults. And it’s very beautiful.
FYI, Legion- there is a cattle mutation that also bulks up the muscle like that boy ion Germany.
Collectively, most of you guys know as much about parenting as I do about astrophysics. And this thread proves it.

“Not even at midnight?”
Ok, can we call a moratorium on the whole late night/midnight/top ten thing. I think I ‘over-shared’ and I’m kinda done with it. Thank you!!
