the people of lower Manhattan (dems and repubs) are up in arms about the safety issue, basically painting a target for every jihaadist who wants to make a name for himself to disrupt the trials.
…then comes the 200million per annum price to pay. with a 1.4 Trillion budget deficit.
“giving this miscreant American civil liberties and miranda rights before the FBI properly interrogated him is beginning to look like a HUGE mistake, judicially and politically”
Legion, I agree that this was a HUGE mistake. I also think Eric Holder deciding to try the Guantanamo detainees in civilian courts is a huge mistake. What’s wrong with military tribunals for these combatants? On the other hand, why have they been held for 8 years WITHOUT military tribunals?
You should try having a friend waterboard you in the summer.
I’ve seen videos of trained former military people having it done as an experiment, they describe the feeling as overpowering, absolutely horrible, this is from a trained professional who KNOWS they’re not going to die. The feeling of drowning is one of the most psychologically punishing, torturous things someone can have happen to them.

Joe,
that’s the point in war no?
lay upside down
arms to your side
inclined position
have water poured up your nasal cavity
…that’s exactly what happens when you throw yourself down a water slide at 30 miles an hour. except at Action Park, you’re in swim trunks and didn’t just plant and IED.
“wait wtf did i just say?”
Not a clue *rob*. I clip my nails, just not on the subway.
CGar,

ok – adding some low-brow elements here:
Does anyone watch the VH1 show “Frank the Entertainer leaves the basement” or something like that
anyway – what part of Brooklyn is this being filmed in? Bensonhurst?
Also – I just commented on the COD that will surely get people’s blood-a-boiling, I feel like Rob!!
Yeah, M4L, the friggin Bol Go Ki is like 30 dollars now. I remember when it was $16! I believe the prices went up at the Flushing location as well.
We the People Act: I’ll get back to you about that bxgrl, gotta run for now.
Takin’ a Brownstone break for a couple of hours. Discuss amongst yourselves…
